Felt Easter Eggs

I've been starting to think about Easter and I saw some fun little felt eater ideas.
I just couldn't stop thinking about making some felt things, I don't even know if these are for gifts or if they are just for decorating here.
I'm already addicted and I'm wanting to try a few more designs.
its nice to be stitching felt again I've missed it, I'm glad Easter has given me an excuse!!

Cross Stitch Kit

My pen pal Sara sent me this cute cross stitch kit for Xmas and I was super excited because I had been wanting to try cross stitch for such a long time and had been drooling over other cross stitchers beautiful work.
I'm a huge fan of a kit, I love that everything is ready to go, you don't have to think about it much and you know at the end you are going to have made something cute. It makes life super easy and helps to take the overwhelm out of making something.
This kit came along with me in the car and was a fun activity to do while waiting for my son to come after school. I love that there was everything in the kit to make a few different designs and if you wanted to you could even design your own.
I loved making this little reindeer and I think that there will be more to come. I cant wait to hang this one up at Christmas time!I may just have caught the cross stitching bug!

Banana and Blueberry Buckwheat Muffins

I've been wanting to make something that I can take with me in the car for breakfast, we leave quite early in the mornings and I usually don't have time to get breakfast.
So I'm not usually a fan of buckwheat, probably because I have mostly tried buckwheat pancakes and well they don't really have anything to hide that buckwheat taste. These muffins however have banana and blueberry which make them yummy!
Buckwheat happens to be gluten free and also has a nice texture to it when baked like this. Of course they are also lovely to have as afternoon tea!
If you'd like to make some too...
Blueberry and Banana Buckwheat Muffins
preheat oven to 180c

1 cup of buckwheat
1/4 cup of almond meal
1 teaspoon of baking powder
a sprinkle of cinnamon
Mix these dry ingredients in a bowl

2 mashed bananas
2 eggs
1/4 cup of honey
2 tablespoons of  melted coconut oil
1/2 cup of blueberries
Mix the wet ingredients in a separate bowl.

Then add wet to dry and mix until all the dry ingredients are wet.
Spoon into a prepared cupcake pan, makes 12. Bake for 10-15 mins

Mamie Made: A Valentines Box

I had planned to make some fun crafty valentines things but somehow time got away from me. I did recently make this sweet little heart box that I thought would make a cute gift with some chocolate or something inside
It was simply made from a cereal box and some hot glue. Then I just added some crape paper and some gold hearts from freckled fawn and letter stickers from American crafts to decorate it.

Some chocolates or biscuits would be the perfect thing to put inside.
I hope my recipient likes it!

Project Life

Can you believe we are almost half way through February! AHHHH! Since school went back the days have flown by! My biggest crafty goal right now is to get more organised for these school days, I spend 3 hours in the car everyday doing the school run and there is 40 minutes either end that I could be crafting in. My biggest problem is that I've been a little wishy washy on what I've been taking with me. Its time to set up some grab and go kits with more specific crafty things to work on. Anyway I'm still plugging away at project life 2015 and I'm simplifying as much as I can.
Photos + Words, then adding just a little embellishment, if I feel like it ;)
I'm all the way back finishing February and March! EEEKK! oh well I will keep going! Somewhere along the way I want to be on top of this years pages- I don't want to get this behind again!
I just love going through the photos and looking back on just how much we did throughout the year- it always astounds me because I know that many of the things that we do are not even photographed! I forget so many times because I am just happy and living in the moment, I have to keep reminding myself to take photos!
I love to have bits of my ordinary days throughout the album- so much of my life is all about the small things, like tea with friends and happy spots at home. It makes me happy to have that stuff documented too.
Although this album is a project life album and I do have it organised month by month I am not super particular about doing it week by week, really I just printout the photos for that month and then just work out what goes with what. I am more about the memories than about the timeline, I just don't think that I am going to look back and worry about exactly what order things are in.

I also really love adding in scrapbook pages that I made throughout the year, I love having a full page then a project life page and this is also one of the ways that I simplify things. If I am feeling in the mood to create a full scrapbook page I just go with it, I like how it adds something different to the album.
I've been doing a lot of this scraping whilst watching Gilmore Girls and drinking tea. Although I am behind still and I am groaning (just a little) about having to catch up, this is still one of my favorite ways to document our lives. My boys love to look through these albums and that in itself makes it totally worth a little grumbling!
